Japan’s CPI, household spending rise in January
Japan’s January core consumer price index rose 1.3 percent from a year earlier, above expectations for a 1.2 percent rise, data on Friday showed. Household spending rose 1.1 percent in January on-year, well above expectations for a 0.2 percent gain, while the country’s jobless rate was steady at 3.7 percent.
